The Eyes of a Father

The eyes of a Father know you.
They love every hair that falls from your head.
They appreciate the beauty of your face
And of your heart.

The eyes of a Father are keen.
They laugh when there’s joy
And cry when there’s pain
Especially when it relates to you.

The eyes of a Father see your accomplishments.
They see them as if you conquered the world
No matter how small.
They celebrate what you’ve done
And rejoice in who you are.

The eyes of a Father have mercy.
They know you make mistakes,
But refuse to see them.
They only want to see the good
And encourage you for it.

The eyes of a Father see beyond the now.
They see and love the person you will become.
They see and dream only the best
For you.

The eyes of a Father are beautiful.
They are so full of love.
They are overflowing with good things.
They see you through all of life’s ups and downs.

The eyes of a Father are alert.
They watch out for you.
They try to stop harm that wants to befall you.
 They watch your back.

The eyes of a Father are wise.
They have seen more
And know more
Then your little eyes have.

The eyes of a Father see your heart.
They see the attitude you do things with.
They see the pain that you carry.
They see the good that overflows in you.

They eyes of a Father are not always seen
Nor noticed by their children.
The eyes of a Father are observed by on lookers.
They can tell by a Father’s eyes that their child is so dearly loved.

The eyes of a Father saw you when you were born.
They saw you and desired to hold you.
They saw you and didn’t want to blink.
They watch you grow,
But remember when they first laid eyes on you.

The eyes of a Father are only a part of the beauty of a Father.
A Father sees you, and holds you, and loves you,
And cherishes you, and delights in you, and celebrates you,
And kisses you, and feeds you, and clothes you, and blesses you,
And pours out himself for you.

“If you, then, Fathers, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him?”
 Matthew 7:11
